5 Reasons to Have a Branding Session
While there are more than 5 reasons to have a branding (marketing) session in this day and age, let’s just stick with these 5.
1) People remember only 10% of information three days after reading it (if even that long). Adding a photo can improve recollection by 65%! (MDG solutions)
2) Over 50% of marketers agree that visual content is essential to their marketing strategy. (Venngage)
3) Articles with relevant images get 94% more views, on average, compared to articles without images. (Infographicworld)
4) A professional marketing photo shoot creates an opportunity for you as a business owner to put its (and your) best face forward. Professional images of you, your products and storefront are perfect for social media, website, print formats and email sharing.
5) Because there’s nothing worse than seeing your competitor (and 10 other brands) using the same stock photo as the one in your campaign (this stat pertains to general branding photography). Yet, in a survey conducted by Venngage, 40% of marketers said they used stock photography more frequently than original graphics. Think of brand photography as another way to represent your products and services in a way that truly represents their unique point of view. (Venngage)
Prepping for your branding session
make sure to convey the vision to me, your photographer.
First, you want to choose your shoot location(s) so you can take the backdrops into consideration when picking your clothing.
Having your clothing choices pre-planned really pushes your session forward. Not only does this ensure that you get in all the outfits that you want in the allotted time, but it also makes sure the time we spend together is with me taking photos, not waiting for you to choose an outfit. This is even more important because you are paying me for my time.
In conclusion: be intentional with everything while planning out the shoot. Don’t just think about what you could use these photos for now, but how you can use them for months to come across all of your marketing and PR efforts.
The purpose of a branded shoot is to position your company for future growth.
These photos will give your client a better opportunity to get to know you before they even request a call or meeting with you, thereby saving you time from phone calls, emails, and proposals with a prospect who likes the “idea” of your company, but may not be YOUR ideal client.
